Day 3 ~ Front Porches Decked Out For A Fabulous Fall

Someday I hope to have a nice lovely porch area.

Fall Front Porch Decorating Ideas

With perhaps a few stairs that lead up to the entryway.

Fall Front Porch

I think the key to creating a successful front entry way for fall is bounty. You decorate with the notion of “When you think you have enough, add one more.”  Of course I can’t be the only one thinking “But the door is blocked.” Yes, but it sure is pretty!

Mums ARE the word. They really say “Fall” to me. I love how an old mail sack was filled and decorates the front door.

Then of course there are gourds. I love the cattails and Chinese cabbage that join the happy jack o lanterns.

I love the clever use of funkins to hold the planted floral arrangements. The rat silhouettes are kind of cute in a creepy way too. Both crafts are easy DIY’s to recreate.

I keep returning to this image. I appreciate the inventive  use of the rakes and pitchforks.

Of course then there are pumpkin topiaries.

I love how the garland and berries are intertwined. I keep hoping that a pair of urns will show up at Goodwill. Someday.

Until then, a darling address marker is a cute option.

In addition to topiaries, there are also wonderful props such as carts, wheel barrows and wagons that can be used.

I myself have a darling antique wagon that I found in Germany years ago. But alas it is too precious to sit outside unattended in the hot sun. Boo!

Welcoming Pumpkin Wheelbarrow

Confession time. I have used the Phoenician sun as an excuse as to why I have long neglected my own front entryway. Then I saw this darling image of funkins, twine pumpkins and faux leaves that tell me I do have options.

So I tried a second excuse that my space was too small. But this cheerful scene, complete with a glittered “G” pumpkin, popped on my design radar.

I held up a white decorating flag and gave up and got to work. Oh my. It needed a lot of work.

The awful “before”.
